36th Annual International Seaplane Fly-In Ride 

We had a pretty good turn out for the Greenville Fly-In ride. Beautiful day for a ride too. For those who were not able to attend…maybe next year.

4th Annual Brenda Sibley Memorial Ride

Saturday, September 26th 2009. There is a $10 donation (goes to Cancer Care of Maine) and registration is from 8:00-9:00 am at McDonald’s in Old Town.  They have partnered with Cancer Care of Maine each year on this special ride for John’s late wife who lost her battle with breast cancer almost five years ago.

JACKMAN RIDE

Leave from Dysart’s  @ 9:00am          

Route:   Turn left from Dysart to Rt. 2

Left on RT 2W

Right onto Horseback Rd

Right onto Rt.222

Straight onto Stetson Rd to Kenduskeag

Left onto RT 15 to Dover-Foxcroft (break at Irving’s)

On to RT 15N to Greenville (lunch at Black Frog)

 ***              

Onto RT 15N to Jackman right onto Rt201N ( on right Gas & Break)

South onto RT 201 to Bingham (break)

Left onto Rt.16 to Right on RT 151 to RT 2

Left onto RT 2 to Newport  Option to continue on RT2 or Take 95N          

END OF RIDE (Approx. 255miles Bangor to Bangor)

 

Machias Ride

 

Leave Dysart’s 9am sharp.

 

Coldbrook Rd East, turning right on to Rt 1A South to Prospect.

 

At Prospect, turn Left onto Rt 174 (Fort Knox Rd) crossing the bridge to Bucksport and stop at Irving for our ‘get rid of the coffee’ break. (25mi/40mins)

 

Right out of Irving onto Rt1 North (for Franklin), we’ll pass through Ellsworth on RT 1 and take a left on R182 to the Rt200 intersection right on RT200 for a short distance than left on RT 182  in Franklin for a quick break. (30mi/45mins)

 

From Franklin we’ll take a left from the lot on RT 182 back to Rt200 than a left on RT200 South to Sullivan and turn left onto Rt 1 heading to Machias where we’ll stop for lunch at Helen’s. Rumor has it the blueberry pie is always in season.  (55mi/1:15hr)

 

Departing Helen’s take Rt 192 North to the end and turn right onto Rt9 for the Airline Snack Bar in Beddington for a quick break. (45mi/1hr)

 

Leave the Snack Bar for No Brewer where we’ll stop at Jimmy’s for ice cream. (40mi/50min)

 

Ride ends here.

 

Approx 195 miles

 

Millinocket/Lincoln Ride

Leave from Dysart’s @ 9:00am          

Take 95 North to Exit 199, Left onto RT 16 to Milo. (appox 43 miles)

Take a right onto RT 11 to Brownville Junction.  (Break) (appox 8miles)

Continue on RT 11/157 thru Millinocket. There are several places to have lunch along this portion of the route (Break & Lunch Appox 33 miles)

Take RT 11/157 thru E. Millinocket and then RT 157 thru Medway, to US RT 2E right onto US Rt  2E  to the Irving’s in Lincoln. (Gas & Short Break Appox 38 miles).

Left onto US RT2E you have option of taking US RT 2 or I95 South back to the Bangor area. (Approx. 48 miles)

 

East Ride

 

Start at Dysart’s.  Get on the road at approximately 9:00 AM.

 

Dysart’s to I-95 North to I-395 East.  Follow I-395 to 1A to Route 46 (East Holden).  Left (North) onto Route 46 to the Route 9.   Right at Route 9 and then travel approximately 30 miles to the first rest stop just before Beddington.

 

After the stop, proceed East on Route 9 to Route US1 (Baileyville).  Stop at the Irving’s at the intersection of Route US1 and Route 9 for lunch and fuel.

 

After lunch, we will head north on Route US1 to Route 6 in Topsfield.  West (left) onto Route 6 and follow into Lincoln. Left onto Route 2/6 (south). We will have a rest Stop in Lincoln by McDonalds/Irvings. 

 

After the rest stop, head south on Route 2 to Old Town.  Merger into Route 2A (Stillwater Ave) and stay on Stillwater Avenue to I-95.  Head  South  on I-95 towards Bangor.  End of ride.

 

 

BIG G`s Lunch Ride

 

DEPART DYSARTS AT 10 AM

 

TAKE RT 2 WEST TO A RIGHT ONTO HORSEBACK ROAD.

 

TAKE A LEFT ONTO RT 222 (BE CAREFULL AT THIS TURN)

 

TAKE A LEFT ONTO RT 7 TO RT 100 AND A LEFT ONTO RT 220.

 TAKE A RIGHT ONTO RT 202 TO THE DEPOT STORE IN UNITY FOR A BREAK.TAKE RT 202 TO RT 3 WEST TO A RIGHT ONTO RT 201 N TO THE BIG G`s WHERE THERE ARE 82 DIFFERENT SANDWICH CHOICES. **Bring cash as they do not take credit cards. But they do have an in-house ATM

 

FROM BIG G`S TO RT 139 TAKIN A RIGHT ONTO RT 201 AND 139 TO A RIGHT ONTO RT 104 INTO NORRIDGEWOCK.

 

TAKE A RIGHT ONTO RT 2 TO SKOWHEGAN AND THEN RT 201 SOUTH TO A LEFT ONTO RT 23 TO A RIGHT BACK ONTO RT 2 TO THE NEWPORT TRIANGLE. APPROX. 150 miles

 

 

RANGLEY RIDE

 Departs Dysarts - 9 am 

Take RT 2 W to Skowhegan taken RT 201 N to a Left onto RT 148 to the Irvings in Madison. 1st STOP (60 miles ) 

Take RT 148 to Anson to RT 201 + 8 to North Anson taking a left onto RT 16 to the Irvings in Rangeley 2nd STOP (GET GAS)  (60 miles ) 

Once in Rangeley there area several places to have lunch. (Parking at the Municipal landing and parking  lot.

We will take RT 17 S to the Rangeley Lake overlook for a few minutes and then continue on RT 17 to RT 2 E in Mexico to the Irving’s in Farmington (60 miles) 

Continue on RT 2 E to Newport (60 miles) 

Than riders have the option of continuing on RT 2E or taking 95N back to the Bangor area. (30 miles)

END OF RIDE (Approx. 250 miles)

 

Schoodic Point Ride

Leave Dysart’s 9am sharp.

 

 Ride Route:

 

Take 95 North to I395 to 1A to Rt.46.

Left onto Rt 46, Continue to Rt.9,

Right onto Rt.9; Continue on Rt9 to Rt179,

Right onto Rt179, Follow Rt179 to Rt200;

Take a left onto Rt200; Follow Rt200 to Rt182;

Take a left to the store and gas station on right.

Break  (restrooms & fuel)

Follow Rt182 back to RT200, take a SHARP LEFT

Onto Rt200.  Follow Rt200 to US Route 1, take a left

Onto Route 1, Follow Rt 1 to Rt 186, take a right.

Follow Rt 186 through Winter Harbor to the Park

Entrance, (turn right), Follow to Schoodic Point.

        **  BREAK & RESTROOMS

Exit Schoodic Point via park road back to RT 186,

Taking a right back to Rt 1, Left onto US 1.

Follow US RT 1 south to Jordans Snack Bar for Lunch Break.

After lunch take US RT 1 south thru Ellsworth to Bucksport.

In Bucksport straight on Rt 15 back to Brewer.

 Ride Ends

 

Saturday or Sunday Ride

 

 

Starting Location:  CMHD in Hermon

Time:    9:30AM

 

Right on Rte. 2  to  the traffic light in Hermon;

Right on Billings Road  to Rte. 222 (Union Street); Left on Union Street to the junction of Route’s  7 & 11& 43 in Corinna;

Left  on Rte’s 7 & 11  & 43 to  Route 43 ( Pleasant Street); Right onto Rte 43  to St Albans were Rte 43 junctions with Rte’s 23 and 152; continue on Rte’s 43, 23, & 152 to Hartland;

Thru  Hartland taking Route 23  until it junctions with US RT 2 in Canaan; Right on Us RT 2 to the Irving Station and Canaan One Stop. (break)

Depart Store;  Right on RT 23 ,To  US RT 201 right on US RT201 continue to US RT 2W, continue on , US RT 2W to the junction with 201A and Rte 8 left at that intersection onto RT 8 (Mechanic ST.), continue on Rt 8 until RT 8 junctions with RT 137 in Smithfield continue on until RT 137 splits off from RT 8,   left on RT 137 to Oakland   

(137 is High Street in Oakland) Right onto Oak Street than Left onto Main Street

(Rt’s 137 & 11) Continue on Rt’s 137 & 11 ( Waterville Road) to Waterville where it changes to Kennedy Memorial Drive, into the old Wal Mart Parking lot. There you may decide what to do of lunch, rest, or gas.

Depart Wal Mart parking lot, Right onto K.M.D.  baring left onto Silver Street to the traffic light at Main street, Right onto Main Street Cross the Bridge into Winslow.  While crossing the bridge get into the center lane, at the traffic light  go straight across onto Clinton Avnue, continue on Clinton until it junctions with RT 100A, at that junction left onto 100A,

  Continue on RT 100A to Benton, where 100A will junction with 100 & 11 follow 100 & 11 to Pittsfield, continue thru the center of Pittsfield still on RT’s 100 & 11 to North Main Street bear slightly left onto North Main Street;  ( DO NOT FOLLOW RT 100 & 11 UP THE HILL TOWARD NEWPORT).   Continue on North Main Street it will change to the Madawaska Road; Continue on the Madawaska Road it will junction with US RT 2; Right on US RT 2 to  Newport.   Break in Newport can decide either to continue on US RT 2 or take US 95.

 

Appox:  150 miles or less

 

 

The Roadhouse Brunch Ride

 

Start location TBA

Take Off - 9:30 am

 

Take RT 9-202 to a left onto RT 7 to The Roadhouse (for Brunch) on the corner of RT 7 & RT 137. 

 

From the Roadhouse to  RT 1 South to RT 90 to RT 1 North to the Maine State Prison Show Room in Thomaston.

 

From the Showroom to RT 17 for gas on the corner of 17 & 131.

 

Take RT 131 to RT 7 to Newport for end of ride.

 

 

 Fall Leaf Peeping Ride

               

Right from Dysart’s Parking Lot, then a left onto Cold Brook Road, to US Rte. 2

Left onto US Rte 2; continuing on Rte 2 to Billings Road

Right on the Billings Road; continuing to Rte 222 (a stop sign controlled intersection)

Left onto Rte 222 continuing on Rte 222 thru Hermon, Levant, Stetson, Newport, into

Corinna.  At the intersection of Rte 222 and Rte’s 7, 11, & 43 (a stop sign controlled intersection)

Left onto Rte’s 7, 11 & 43 then a quick right onto Rte 43W (Pleasant Street) 

Then a Right onto Rte 43W (St Albans Road)   continuing on Rte 43W & Rte 23W to the

Junction with Rte 152 Left onto Rte’s 152s & 43W & 23W

Continuing thru Hartland making a slight left onto Rte 23W Continue on Rte 23W to

The intersection with US Rte 2 turn right onto US Rte 2 appox. 5/10th of a mile stopping

At The Canaan One Stop for.  (50.8 miles)

 

Depart   Right onto Rte 23W  to the intersection with US Rte 201N ;  Right onto Rte 201N  continuing to the Junction with US Rte 2 W, thru the intersection continue west on Rte 2W to Farmington at the junction of US Rte & Rte 4N; Right onto Rte 4N stopping at 

The Irving Station for  ……and a break as there isn’t any fuel or rest stops on Rte 4N until we reach Rangley….( 41.7 miles)

 

Depart Left onto Rte 4N thru Farmington continuing on Rte 4N passing thru Strong, Madrid, on into Rangely; thru the Town stopping at the Irving Station for   ……and a break as there isn’t any fuel or rest stops on Rte 4N & Rte 17E until we reach Rumford….( 41.5 miles)

 

Depart Right onto Rte 4N & Rte 16 to the junction with Rte 17E; Left onto Rte 17E;  passing thru Summit, Roxbury, to the Junction with US Rte 2;  Right onto US Rte 2W thru Rumford to Sam’s Citgo for

as needed.  (45.5 miles)

Depart Right onto US Rte 2W  to Sunday River Brewing Co.  For  lunch,  (18.6 miles)

 

Return to Bangor, Via US Rte 2 E

   (133miles)

 

Freeport Ride

 

Depart Dysart’s at 9:00 AM                 

 

 

Exit Dysart’s parking Lot to the traffic light, Right onto Cold Brook Rd

 

To US RT 202, Right onto 202 south to the Traffic Light; Right at the Traffic Light

 

Onto Western Ave (Route’s 202 & 9); Continuing on Route’s 202 & 9 passing thru Unity

 

Continue to the intersection with Route 3, Right onto Route 3

                                                                                   

First stop at the Kenaco gas station and store in South Vassalboro; (Appox. 60 miles)

 

 

Depart right on Rte 3 to Cony Road; turn left onto Cony Rd to the intersection with Rte 17.

 

Right on Rte 17, to the intersection with Rte 9 right on Rte 9 to Rte 27, straight onto Rte 27

 

To US Rte 1 in Wiscasset, Right onto Rte 1 continuing thru Bath & Brunswick, to Interstate 295,

 

Interstate 295 South to Exit 22 (Mallet Dr. & Rte’s 126/136). Left onto Mallet Dr to the McDonald’s.

 

Ending at the McDonald’s parking lot in Freeport.   (Appox 61 miles)

 

Once in Freeport riders will have the option of grabbing a quick lunch at McDonald’s or browsing Freeport where there

 

Are several options for lunch.   There will also be a couple of hours to brows the outlets and stores that Freeport has to offer

 

Before returning for the ride home; Meeting will be at the Exxon Gas Station on Mallet Dr. Freeport.
